We are currently looking for an Executive Assistant to join our team for a one year Maternity leave.

Title:
Executive Assistant to the President & Investor Relations Assistant

Term:
April 18, 2016 – June 3, 2017

Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, and assisting the Vice President, Investor Relations.

  • Screen calls and greet guests;
  • Sort and distribute mail;
  • Manage calendars and schedules;
  • Book travel and accommodations;
  • Maintain files;
  • Coordinate events and meetings;
  • Draft Executive budget and code invoices for approval;
  • Arrange Investor Relations events booth space and supplies;
  • Prepare and arrange Board of Directors’ presentations;
  • Sedi filings;
  • Personal errands as required (bank, dry cleaning, lunch, etc.);
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time; and
  • Provide back-up reception support as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Excellent MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Team player and willing to assist as required; and
  • Minimum five years Executive Assistant experience, preferably in the mining industry.

B2Gold Namibia (Pty) Ltd. is a 90% owned subsidiary of B2Gold Corp.  B2Gold Namibia's portfolio includes the Otjikoto Mine in north central Namibia as well as extensive base metal concessions in northern Namibia. Otjikoto's construction was completed in 2014, and the first gold poured in December 2014 -   with 2015 being its first full year of production.

PROCESSING SUPERINTENDENT

General Scope of Duty
The Processing Superintendent will be responsible to assist the Metallurgical Manager with the management of the processing plant and technical metallurgical support services to achieve optimal availability, utilization and performance of resources.

Location and reporting structure
This position is based at the Otjikoto Mine and will report directly to the Metallurgical Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Draw up monthly operational plan, in accordance with annual production plan requirements, monitor progress and action deviations.
  • Investigate and analyze causes of production delays, and deviations and directs relevant staff on corrective actions
  • Co-ordinate interfaces with other departments to optimize production performance
  • Compile daily/monthly production reports, ensuring a high degree of accuracy
  • Evaluate and approve implementation of modifications and improvements to plant, processes and operating procedures
  • Report to the Metallurgical Manager on all aspects of plant performance, costs and safety
  • Provide Operational team with means to achieve the production targets
  • Monitor and approve expenditure against working cost budgets, within approved parameters
  • Analyze and review plant monthly working costs and recommends adjustments to operational plans to achieve yearly targets
  • Analyze and evaluate plant performance, technical reports and implement appropriate action to improve and maintain process efficiencies and quality standards
  • Identify process related problems and develops and implements solutions
  • Assess subordinates' performance against agreed objectives, standards and implements action to correct deviations, optimize outputs and to achieve overall plant goals and objectives
  • Set individual and team goals to support departmental objectives
  • Provide mentorship as required
  • Assess skills and competencies and ensure appropriate training to develop employees
  • To be accountable for coordinating and providing inputs to processing team that will ensure optimal availability and utilization of the Process Plant
  • To manage the Process Plant section at maximum availability and efficiency with adherence to job safety and good housekeeping standards

Competencies and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering or a National Higher Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy.
  • 10 years working experience in the processing or metallurgical environment
  • 5 years in senior management role.
  • Code BE Driver's License

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team for a 12 month contract position.

Title:
Accounting Manager

Term:
March 1, 2016 – February 28, 2017

Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Assistant Corporate Controller, and indirectly to the Vice President Finance & Chief Financial Officer, the key responsibilities will be:

  • Review of head office ledgers;
  • Oversight of accounts payable group;
  • Oversight of head office accounting system and oversight of new site accounting systems, if any;
  • Preparation of complex accounting entries;
  • Review of consolidations on a quarterly basis;
  • Assistance with tax filing requirements;
  • Assistance with complex intercompany reconciliations and intercompany billings;
  • Assistance with preparation and review of annual budgets; and
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Accounting designation with a minimum of 5 years of industry work experience at the manager level;
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and modelling;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment; and
  • Experience using Great Plains and Sage X3 and systems implementations considered an asset
