B2Gold is pleased to support the next generation of Canadian mining professionals through the Young Mining Professionals Scholarship Fund (YMPSF). The YMPSF was established to help fund and promote mining and mining-related education, and this year the Fund has grown to over $210,000 within 42 individual scholarships ranging from $500 to $15,000, which are awarded to post-secondary students across Canada (undergraduate and graduate) enrolled in the 2022/2023 academic year in an earth-sciences post-secondary program pursuing a career in mining.

Congratulations to Katie Gamble who is the recipient of the 2022 YMP B2Gold Women in Mining Scholarship. Katie is currently a 3rd year Mining Engineering student at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in the Mineral Resource and Mining Engineering program. She previously completed a BBA and worked on the finance side of the mining industry for several years before going back to school to pursue mine engineering. Katie has completed three work terms throughout her degree in underground mine development operations, geology and most recently in geotechnical engineering. She is certified in Mine Rescue and holds a B.C. blasting ticket, and intends to pursue a career in Mine Operations Management after graduation.
